Shower of Clowns
I started to write about a shower of rain,
thinking about the weather,
but that made me stop and start to write again,
and rethink altogether.
It reminded me of the collective nouns,
as in a murder of crows,
or a gaggle of geese and a shower of clowns,
and so the idea grows.
How about a deception of politicians,
or an invoice of lawyers,
and maybe an undertaking of morticians,
and a use of employers.
A foreboding of economists sounds fine,
an overture of greeters,
a wordiness of poets who try to write lines,
maybe an itch of skeeters?
Another one is a confusion of jurists,
hearing the prosecution,
and for those who consider themselves purists,
how about a diminution?
A marshmallow of clouds on a sunny day,
when rain is nowhere in sight,
a gentle of breezes while children play,
their happiness a delight.
