Life in Progress
Mistakes that I've made were a learning curve,
although there were times I was mortified
experience has taught me to observe
and that lesson is often fortified.
When younger, I would leap into action
without giving thought to a situation
and that momentary satisfaction,
often gave rise to humiliation.
When I am saying my daily prayers
to my God who has my admirations,
I ask for prudence in all my affairs,
and I ask especially for patience.
I ask for wisdom and understanding
so that I will never be judgmental,
and to be more giving than demanding
and avoid being temperamental.
The pages of my past are full of mistakes
the future pages to be completed,
I pray to God that I have what it takes
so that past errors won't be repeated.
