Christmas Colours

Christmas colours blur in excited eyes,
in this season of great expectations;
Carols mix with Santy tunes effortlessly
and sang with equal fervour.

Adults are a curious mixture of stressed and happy,
a hard year is coming to a close,
there is hope on the horizon,
and in the mid winter cold, there is a Saviour.

Children listen for sleigh bells,
afraid they might be heard,
counting days, learning songs,
getting in the way, talking too much.

In the heart of all the noise and preparations,
the spirit of the season
wraps us in peace and hope,
all is calm, all is right.
